Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to work with inspiring colleagues to make tomorrow a safer world? We're looking for a driven and strategic individual to take on a unique hybrid role as a Sourcing Lead for our explosion-protected (EX) solutions.

The hybrid role means you will act both as Project Sourcing Lead and Commodity Manager for the area. In this position, you will play an important part in shaping our supply chain for products designed for the most demanding and hazardous environments. This is a chance to make a significant impact within a company that offers a fantastic culture and great development opportunities.

Who is your future team?
You will join a team of skilled and dedicated sourcing professionals who are crucial to Axis's success. We work with a high degree of individual responsibility while leveraging our collective strength, supporting one another to find better ways of working. You will collaborate closely with R&D, product management, quality assurance, and our manufacturing partners to secure a resilient and responsible supply chain for our highly specialized Explosion protected product portfolio.

What you’ll do here as a Sourcing Lead EX?
In this dynamic hybrid role, you will lead both the long-term commodity strategy and the hands-on project sourcing activities for our development projects within explosion protected products.

Your primary focus will be on project sourcing activities to meet the project’s needs on cost, quality and technical performance while also securing the very important compliance requirements. The role also contains more traditional tasks as a commodity manager where you will drive the EX specific supplier base – from strategy to supplier management.

Your key responsibilities from a Project Sourcing Lead perspective will include:

  • Lead Project Sourcing: Act as the main sourcing stakeholder in new product development projects. You will evaluate quotes, negotiate terms, and select suppliers that meet the stringent requirements of hazardous environments.
  • Secure Project Builds: Work closely with our contract manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure all materials are in place to meet critical project prototype builds and time plans.
  • Influence Product Design: Collaborate with R&D early in the design phase to influence component selection, ensuring choices are optimized for producibility, cost, compliance (e.g., ATEX, IECEx), and supply chain resilience.
  • Analyze and Mitigate Risk: Proactively review the Bill of Material (BOM) to identify and address risks related to cost, lead times, and single-source components.

As the Commodity Manager part of the role, you will:

  • Review and Secure Supplier Specific Compliance: The suppliers for this product area have unique requirements compared to our normal supplier base, and these must be secured through review, planning and execution.
  • Develop Commodity Strategy: You will develop and execute the long-term sourcing strategy for critical EX commodities, such as high-grade stainless steel and certified enclosures, to secure future cost, quality, and availability.
  • Manage Supplier Performance: Serve as a key contact for commercial discussions and act as an escalation point for supplier performance, ensuring our partners meet our high standards.
  • Maintain Business Systems: Accurately enter and maintain component and supplier data within our SRM and ERP systems to ensure data integrity across the organization.

Who are we looking for?
We believe you are a natural relationship-builder who thrives in a team-oriented environment but also has the drive to take initiative and deliver results independently. You are analytical, well-structured, and have a keen interest in the business side of technology. Your positive, solution-focused attitude will be key to navigating the complexities of this role in a fast-paced environment. You also enjoy being the person responsible and clearly in charge of your area.

We'd love to hear that you have/are:

  • A degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a similar field.
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or project purchasing, preferably within a global manufacturing company.
  • A strong technical interest and understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes (e.g., stainless steel fabrication, die-casting, plastic molding).
  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, products designed for hazardous locations and familiarity with certifications like ATEX and IECEx is highly meritorious.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience managing commercial agreements.
  • Excellent MS Office skills and comfortable working in ERP systems.
  • A global mindset, with experience understanding different business cultures.
  • Fluency in English is required, and skills in Swedish are beneficial.
